No one has the right to hurt you, and it’s not your fault

Connie S.

My inspiration to be part of TJCF comes from my desire to help people of all ages to be safe; how to think differently about one’s surroundings, how to evaluate behaviors, how to make a plan and execute it so everyone is safe. My inspiration comes from Erin and is renewed every time we meet, to protect our children and remind everyone “No one has the right to hurt you, and it’s not your fault.” I love to share all aspects of TJCF and BRAVE. I’m nervous every time I do a presentation as I want to make certain I’m sharing the information in a way worthy of Samantha’s memory. I love to see “ah ha” moments in parents and students. One that comes to mind “ah ha” moment is when I discuss “forcing” your child to kiss a relative even though they are uncomfortable and the message this can potentially send to an offender. The experience that stays with me and keeps going is when a child finds his or her voice! The big voice the says “NO, you’re not my dad” or the voice that speaks up, the BRAVE voice!
