NEWPORT BEACH, Erin Runnion, Founder of The Joyful Child Foundation: Today, May 25, is National Missing Children’s Day.  It was established in honor of Etan Patz who disappeared on this day in 1979. Yesterday a man was arrested in New Jersey in connection with Etan’s disappearance and has confessed to his murder. It is unlikely that his remains will ever be found.  For 33 years,  Etan’s parents have had to live their lives not knowing if their little boy was alive, suffering or deceased. It is for these families that we ask everyone to acknowledge this day and help in any way you can.  Every year about 800,000 people go missing.  Of those, about 262,000 are children.
