NEWPORT BEACH, Erin Runnion, Founder of Joyful Child Foundation, which is dedicated to preventing crimes against children.: It is only because the man is 68 years old that I am satisfied Jerry Sandusky is sentenced to 30-60 years in prison for 45 counts of child sexual abuse. It shouldn’t take 10 incredibly brave young people to describe 45 crimes against them in order to put a child predator behind bars for life. I would have appreciated the maximum sentence of 442 years. Although it may not have had practical significance, it helps to establish precedent for holding people fully accountable for crimes against children.
